Tailgate Lock (Station Wagon Models) — Removal, Installation and Adjustment (Audi 100 C3)

1. Open the rear door, remove the interior trim to gain access to the lock.

2. Separate the bracket, disengage the connecting rod from the lock cylinder lever (photo).



3. Remove the bolt securing the lock cylinder to the rear door and the two bolts securing the lock mounting plate to the rear door.

4. Disconnect the two rods, remove the assembly through the hole in the door.

5. Remove the two bolts of the lock mechanism, take the mechanism out into the rear door and disengage the rod. Remove the lock from the car.

6. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
