Hood Holder Strut — Removal and Installation (Audi 100 C3)

1. Support the hood in the open position.

2. Remove the bracket from the holder, unclip the top pin and remove it.

3. If the lower strut mount has a plastic socket, move the bracket approximately 4.0 mm with a screwdriver and separate the lower strut mount from the ball stud. Do not remove the bracket completely, as it may be damaged.

4. If the lower mount has a metal socket, use pliers to push the pin out and remove the lower strut mount from the ball stud.

5. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
