2. To avoid problems and loss of time, the engine assembly is carried out in the following order.
- a) Crankshaft (paragraph 13).
- b) Pistons with connecting rods (paragraphs 14 and 15).
- c) Oil pump (chapter 2A or 2B).
- d) Pallet (chapter 2A or 2B).
- d) Flywheel/faceplate (chapter 2A or 2B).
- e) Cylinder head (head 2A or 2B).
- g) Timing belt tensioner, sprockets and belt (chapter 2A or 2B).
- c) Intake and exhaust manifolds (see the relevant part of Chapter 4),
- i) Engine attachments (see list in paragraph 5 of this chapter).
3. At this stage, all engine components should be absolutely clean and dry, with any defects corrected. Lay out the components (by their containers) on a completely clean desktop.
