Removal
With the vehicle on the ground, loosen the nut at the end of the axle shaft.
Raise and securely support the vehicle.
Remove the axle nut, wheel bolts and the wheel itself.
Remove the bolts securing the brake caliper to the shock absorber strut and remove the caliper without disconnecting the pipe. Secure the caliper to the side using wire.
Remove the brake disc. Remove the bolts of the inner flange of the axle shaft and support the axle shaft.
Remove the fuel tank cap plate if necessary.
Remove the nut securing the transverse rod to the wheel bearing housing and remove the rod (lever).
Remove the nut and bolt securing the trapezoidal lever to the cross beam. Press the lever down.
Remove the suspension strut mounting bolt.
Before removing the axle shaft, slightly pull the speed sensor out of the housing.
Press the wheel bearing housing down and remove the axle shaft.
Clean the axle shaft splines from grease, dirt or sealant.
Installation
Use a new inner flange gasket and perform all operations in reverse order.
Tighten the axle flange bolts to 8 Nm. Install the caliper and tighten the bolts to 65 Nm. The parking brake may need adjustment.
Install the bolt and washer on the axle shaft assembly and tighten, but do not tighten completely.
Make sure the speed sensor bushing is in place and insert the speed sensor by hand until it seats. Install the wheels.
Lower the vehicle and tighten the axle bolts to 200 Nm plus an additional quarter turn.
