Withdrawal
With the vehicle on the ground, loosen the nut on the end of the axle shaft.
Raise and support the vehicle securely.
Remove the axle nut, wheel bolts and the wheel itself.
Remove the bolts securing the brake caliper to the suspension strut and remove the caliper without disconnecting the pipeline. Using wire, secure the caliper to the side.
Remove brake disc. Remove the axle shaft inner flange bolts and support the axle shaft.
Remove the fuel tank cap plate, if necessary.
Remove the nut securing the transverse link to the wheel bearing housing and remove the link (lever arm).
Remove the nut and bolt securing the trapezoid arm to the cross member. Push the lever down.
Remove the suspension strut mounting bolt.
Before removing the axle shaft, slightly pull the speed sensor out of the housing.
Press the wheel bearing housing down and remove the axle shaft.
Clean the splines of the axle shaft from grease, dirt or sealant.
Installation
Use a new inner flange gasket and perform all operations in reverse order.
Tighten the axle shaft flange bolts to 8Nm. Install the caliper and tighten the bolts to 65 Nm. The parking brake may need to be adjusted.
Install the axle shaft bolt and washer assembly and tighten, but not completely.
Make sure the speed sensor bushing is in place and insert the speed sensor by hand until it is seated. Install wheels.
Lower the vehicle and tighten the axle shaft bolts to 200 Nm and an additional quarter of a turn.
