Shafts with bolted inner CV joint flange: removal and installation
1. Remove the hub nut (see Section 7).
2. Loosen the drive shaft fasteners on the rear final drive.
3. Unscrew the bolt (1 in the illustration) suspension arm (2).

4. Insert a wooden block between the suspension arm (arrow in the illustration) and hub assembly holders.

5. Press the drive shaft out of the hub assembly (see illustration 7.10). Slide the drive shaft through the rear final drive flange until it stops (arrow in the illustration), to pull the outer CV joint out of the hub assembly.
9.5. Removing the drive shaft.
Remove the drive shaft in the direction of the arrow between the parking brake cable and the brake caliper by slightly pulling the lower suspension arm downwards.
6. Clean the splines of the outer CV joint and hub down to bare metal; remove the grease from them and apply assembly grease to the drive shaft splines. Insert the outer CV joint into the splines as far as possible, and then pull the shaft in using the tool shown on illustrations 7.14.
7. Press the hub assembly holder in the direction of the arrow (see illustration).

In this case, the suspension arm enters the hub assembly holder.
8. Further installation is carried out in reverse order.
Shafts with bolted inner CV joint flange: repair
9. The drive shaft assembly details are shown in the illustration.
9.9. Assembly details of the drive shaft with bolted fastening of the inner CV joint flange:
1 - Drive shaft;
2 - Outer CV joint;
3 - Self-locking hub nut, replaceable, 500 Nm;
4, 11 - Large clamp, subject to replacement;
5 - Anther;
6 - Small clamp, subject to replacement;
7 - Lid;
8 - Retaining ring;
9 - Inner CV joint, replaceable only as an assembly;
10 - Lid;
12 - Locking plate;
13 - Bolt, to be replaced, 50 Nm, then tighten to an angle of 90°.
10. The outer CV joint is replaced only together with the shaft. If the boot needs to be replaced, the inner CV joint must be removed first.
11. The following describes the replacement of the inner CV joint assembly.
12. Remove both inner CV joint boot clamps (see illustration 7.17) and pull off the boot. Remove the inner CV joint cover and remove the retaining ring (see illustration) and remove the inner CV joint from the drive shaft by hand.

13. When installing, use a new snap ring and a new inner CV joint cover.
Shafts with splined inner CV joints: removal and installation
14. Remove the hub nut (see Section 7) and remove the wheel.
15. Disconnect the connector (2 in the illustration) and, if available, a connector (1).

Disconnect the electrical wiring (3) from the bracket on the hub assembly holder. Remove the bolts (4 and 5) from the wiring holder. Disconnect the brake pad wear sensor connector.
16. Rotate the hub until the wheel bolt hole is at the 6 o'clock position. Install the tools shown in the illustration and support the hub assembly holder.

2 - Puller T10103;
3 - Support T10149;
4 - Transmission jack.
17. Remove the bolts in the following sequence (1-2-5-3-4 in the illustration).

Disconnect the parking brake cable from the subframe.
18. Secure the sling (2 in the illustration) on the subframe (1) and the hub assembly carrier as shown.

Remove the transmission jack, carefully loosen the sling and, together with an assistant, tilt the hub assembly holder by approximately 45°, while simultaneously removing the drive shaft from it using the T10103/1 puller (see illustration 7.10). Secure the end of the shaft so that it does not fall.
19. Using a plastic-coated lever, press the drive shaft out of the final drive (see illustration) and take it off.

20. Installation is carried out in reverse order. Use a new snap ring. The shaft is fixed in the main gear with a strong push, and is pressed into the hub using the T10206 device (by analogy with illustration 7.14).
Splined inner CV joint shafts: repair
21. The drive shaft assembly details are shown in the illustration.
9.21. Assembly details of the drive shaft with flange mounting of the inner CV joint:
1 - Hub nut, subject to replacement, 500 Nm;
2 - Outer CV joint, replaceable only as an assembly;
3 - Large clamp, subject to replacement;
4, 8 - Anther;
5 - Small clamp, subject to replacement;
6, 10 - Retaining ring, subject to replacement;
7 - Drive shaft;
9 - Inner CV joint, can only be replaced as an assembly.
22. To remove the CV joint, clamp the shaft in a vice with protective jaws, slide the boot and knock off the CV joint, resting it against the crosspiece (see illustration).

23. Install a new retaining ring and replace the boot if necessary.
24. Apply half of the supplied grease to the CV joint and tap it onto the shaft with a mallet.
