8.1. Installation details of the lower control arm, steering knuckle and hub assembly:
1 - Self-locking nut, replaceable, 180 Nm;
2 - Eccentric washer;
3 - Eccentric bolt;
4 - Self-locking nut, must be replaced, 150 Nm, then tighten to an angle of 90°;
5 - Lower suspension arm;
6 - Bolt, must be replaced;
7 - Tie rod end;
8 - Self-locking nut, replaceable, 90 Nm;
9 - Self-locking nut, replaceable, 105 Nm;
10 - Wheel bearing;
11 - Retaining ring;
12 - Self-locking hub nut, replaceable, 500 Nm: lubricate the mating surface before installation;
13 - Wheel hub;
14, 19 - Bolt, 20 Nm;
15 - Brake mechanism shield;
16 - Steering knuckle;
17 - Self-locking nut, replaceable, 85 Nm;
18 - Bracket;
20 - Upper suspension arm;
21 - Bracket;
22 - Bolt, 9 Nm;
23 - Drive shaft;
24 - Bolt;
25 - Bolt, subject to replacement: M10 - 50 Nm, then tighten to an angle of 90°, and M12 - 90 Nm, then tighten to an angle of 90°;
26 - Locking plate;
27 - Suspension strut;
28 - Stabilizer bar;
29 - Self-locking nut, replaceable, 110 Nm;
30 - Subframe.
The front wheel hubs, together with the wheel bearings, form hub assemblies, which are secured to the steering knuckles. The bearing can only be removed after the hub has been removed.
2. Remove the drive shaft (see Section 7) and secure the upper suspension arm to the steering knuckle.
3. Remove the brake disc and brake shield (see Chapter 8). Disconnect the ABS wheel sensor wiring from the bracket and remove the sensor (see Chapter 8).
4. Secure the T10205/1 stops to the hub using wheel bolts (And in the illustration).
8.4. Fastening the stops.
5. Make sure the wheel bolts (2 in the illustration) do not protrude from the back of the supports.
8.5. Position of wheel bolts.
6. Install the fixtures as shown in the illustration.
8.6. Removing the hub:
1, 8 - Stud M20 T10205/8-1;
2, 7 - Nut M20 T10205/8-2;
3 - Hydraulic press VAS6178;
4 - Support T10205/2;
5 - T10205/1 Grips;
6 - Support part T10205/3.
Pull out the hub using these tools.
7. Remove the retaining ring and install the tools as shown in the illustration.
8.7. Removing the wheel bearing:
1, 8 - Stud M20 T10205/8-1;
2, 7 - Nut M20 T10205/8-2;
3 - Hydraulic press VAS6178;
4 - Support pipe T10205/5;
5 - Support T10205/4;
6 - Support plate T10205/6.
Note: The journal of the T10205/6 support plate must face the final drive.
Using the specified tools, press out the bearing.
8. Place a spacer behind the bearing inner race as shown in the illustration and press out the inner race.
8.8. Separating the inner race of the wheel bearing:
1 - Divider 3 Kukko 15/3;
2 - Support T10205/2;
3 - Hydraulic press VAS6178;
4, 6 - Nut M20 T10205/8-2;
5 - Support part T10205/3;
7 - Stud M20 T10205/8-1.
Note: The chamfer on the spacer plates must face the inner race.
9. Installation is carried out in reverse order. The ABS sensor rotor with a rubber coating built into the wheel bearing, or the magnetic side of the bearing, must face the final drive. When pressing the bearing, do not exceed the pressure of 310 bar (the pressure before the end of pressing should be 100-190 bar). When pressing the hub, do not exceed a pressure of 140 bar (the pressure before the end of pressing should be 30-100 bar).
