Rear final drive 0AB
1. The installation details of the rear final drive are shown in the illustration.
4.1. Details of installation of the rear main gear 0AB:
1 - Rear final drive;
2 - Nut, subject to replacement;
3 - Rear subframe;
4 - Bolts to be replaced, 90 Nm, then tighten to an angle of 90°;
5 - Bolt, must be replaced;
6 - Nut, to be replaced, 90 Nm, then tighten to an angle of 90°;
7 - Protection from stones (not on all models);
8 - Protection lock 7;
9 - Rear left drive shaft;
10 - Rear propeller shaft.
2. Remove the rear part of the exhaust system (see Chapter 4).
3. Make sure that the factory color marks are present on the rear propeller shaft and on the rear final drive flange (see illustration).
4.3. Marks on the rear propeller shaft and on the rear main gear flange.
If these marks are not visible, apply them.
4. Loosen the rear propeller shaft fasteners on the rear final drive (see Section 5), holding it from turning with the T10172 device and T10172/6 adapters. Tie up the cardan shaft (see illustration).
4.4. Fixing the cardan shaft.
5. Remove the drive shaft fasteners (1 and 2 in the illustration) on the rear main gear and tie them up.
4.5. Rear final drive fastening.
Support the rear final drive with a transmission jack and remove the bolts (arrows) securing it to the subframe.
6. Tie the rear final drive to the flange (And in the illustration) and lower it.
4.6. Removing the rear final drive.
7. Installation is carried out in reverse order. Align the marks made during removal.

8. The details of the rear final drive installation are shown in the illustration.
4.8. Details of installation of the rear main gear 0BN or 0BP:
1, 6, 8 - Nut, to be replaced, 90 Nm, then tighten to an angle of 90°;
2, 5, 7 - Bolt, subject to replacement;
3 - Rear subframe;
4 - Rear final drive.
9. Remove the rear part of the exhaust system (see Chapter 4).
10. Press the rear drive shaft flanges away from the holders in the rear final drive using a suitable lever (And in the illustration).
4.10. Separating the rear drive shaft.
Remove the rear left drive shaft (see Section 9) and seal the opening for the shaft flange.
11. Mark the position of the rear propeller shaft relative to the rear final drive (see illustration).
4.11. Marks on the rear propeller shaft and on the rear final drive.
12. Using a suitable lever, press the rear propeller shaft out of the rear final drive (see illustration).
4.12. Separating the propeller shaft from the rear main gear.
In this case, rest the lever on the bushing, and not on the boot, since if the boot is damaged, the driveshaft will have to be replaced.
13. Support the rear final drive with a transmission jack. Remove the bolts (see illustration) mount the rear final drive on the subframe, lift it up, push it towards the left side of the car and remove the right drive shaft.
4.13. Rear final drive fastening.
14. Tie the rear final drive to the flange (And in illustration 4.6) and lower it.
15. Installation is carried out in reverse order. Replace the sealing ring (1 in the illustration) and a retaining ring (2) on the end of the main gear shaft.
4.15. Sealing (1) and retaining ring (2).
Align the marks made during removal. If you cannot insert the cardan shaft into the rear final drive with a sharp push of your hand, rest a wooden block against the shaft and hit it.
