Below is a test procedure without removing the engine. To test, you will need a dial indicator with…

Set the cylinder (1) to TDC by rotating the crankshaft until the TDC mark on the flywheel (OT) and the lug on the clutch housing, as well as the marks on the gear wheel of the injector pump and bracket, coincide.

Verification conditions:
  • The cold start accelerator button should not be pulled out.
  • The timing belt tension must be normal.

Loosen the locking screw on the injector pump cover.

Screw in the indicator instead of the plug until the arrow starts moving. Set the indicator arrow to 0. Then insert the indicator further until its readings are 2 mm. Slowly rotate the crankshaft counterclockwise until the indicator pointer stops moving. Set the indicator to 0.

Note: If the measured value is within the tolerance, no adjustment is required.

To install, loosen the bracket mounting bolts and the rear stop mounting bolt.

Loosen the lower bracket mounting bolt from the front through the hole in the injector pump gear.

Loosen the lower bracket mounting bolt from the front through the hole in the injector pump gear.

Move the fuel injection pump using a suitable lever or crowbar.
Remove the dial indicator and screw the plug onto the pump cover.

Attention. The plug gasket must be replaced each time. Tightening torque is 15 Nm. In case of a loose fit, tightening with a torque of 25 Nm is allowed.

Screw in the TDC indicator hole plug.
