Listed below are some malfunctions, their possible causes and solutions that can help with diagnosis.
The AB charge control lamp does not light up when the ignition is switched on. The battery is discharged. Use an additional battery or start the engine while towing the vehicle.
The lamp has burnt out.
Loose or oxidized wire at the battery terminal. Check connection. In extreme cases, rinse with warm water, but it is better to use a special cleaner
Open circuit between ignition switch, warning lamp and alternator. In this case, it is recommended to check everything in the workshop.
Broken or loose wire "masses" between generator and engine. Check him.
Faulty brushes, voltage regulator or generator. Replace brushes and regulator as described above. Return the generator for repair or replace it.
The control lamp lights up or flashes when the engine is running
If all wires are connected and not damaged, the V-belt may be loose or the belt tensioner may be defective. Check them out. Other causes could be worn alternator brushes and a faulty voltage regulator/alternator.
