If the wheels are removed to check the condition of the pads, the condition of the brake discs should also be checked at the same time.
There should be no deep grooves on the discs (caused by dirt or heavily worn pads). Otherwise, these grooves will cut deeply into the new brake pads, which will significantly reduce their service life and, in addition, reduce the braking effect.
Grooved brake discs can be machined on a lathe if they have not been thinned to a minimum size as a result of long service life (see table below).
Discs that are too thin must be replaced in pairs.
The bluish tint of the brake discs does not matter.
