After the engine has been running under load for a long time, do not stop it immediately; let it idle for about 2 minutes.
During the first 10 minutes after stopping the engine, special care should be taken when working in the engine compartment, as the cooling system fan may turn on even when the ignition is off.
In cars with a catalytic converter, the engine must not be stopped until the car has come to a complete stop, since the fuel, having entered the heated converter, will burn there and put it out of order.
