Order of execution
1. Loosen the bolts securing the generator to the bracket, the generator adjusting bar and the generator to the adjusting bar.
2. Turn the alternator away from the engine block, thus tensioning the belt. The belt is tensioned correctly if it flexes 10–15 mm when it is pressed with a finger in the middle between the alternator pulley and the crankshaft pulley.
3. Tighten the alternator mounting bolts (cm. subsection 12.1.3.1).
