Withdrawal
Disconnect the wire from the negative battery terminal.
Remove the air filter.
Remove the upper bolts securing the gearbox to the engine.
Disconnect the flexible speedometer drive shaft.
Remove the clutch slave cylinder retainer.
Knock out the spring cotter pin from the clutch slave cylinder with a drift.
Remove the clutch slave cylinder without disconnecting the clutch hydraulic hose from it.
Raise the power unit slightly using a lifting device.
Remove the muffler intake pipe.
Remove the right front wheel drive shaft guard.
Disconnect the front wheel drives from the differential output shaft flanges.
Disconnect the electrical wires from the gearbox.
Disconnect the gearshift linkage from the gearbox and disconnect the spherical head pressure adjusting linkage from the gear selector rod lever.
Turn out the lower bolts of fastening of a transmission to the engine.
Remove the starter.
Detach the protective guards from the front subframe.
Raise the gearbox slightly.
Turn away nuts of bolts of fastening of brackets of a box to a front subframe.
Unscrew the nut of the bolt securing the right bracket of the gearbox suspension.
Separate the gearbox from the engine.
Lower the gearbox without hitting the engine hoses with the gearbox housing.
Remove the gearbox.
Installation
Install the gearbox in the reverse order of removal. When installing the engine and gearbox mounting brackets, as well as the exhaust pipes, do not apply excessive force so that the parts are not subjected to excessive mechanical stress. Adjust the shift control mechanism if necessary. Install the gearbox with the following in mind:
- clean and lubricate the input shaft splines with Moly type anti-friction paste;
- when installing the gearbox in place, the front wheel drive shafts must be on the front subframe;
- after installing the gearbox, do not forget to tighten the lower bolts securing the gearbox to the engine block.
