Note. When disassembling, put marks on the removed parts suitable for further use in order to install them in their original places and in their original position during assembly.
Remove the intake manifold and exhaust manifold.
Remove a flange of the gauge distributor and the gauge distributor of ignition.
Remove spark plugs.
Remove the cylinder head cover.
Remove the camshaft drive belt front guards.
Turn away bolts of fastening of the pump of a cooling liquid.
Remove the camshaft drive belt.
Remove the camshaft sprocket.
Remove the rear camshaft drive belt cover.
Turn away, observing the correct order, bolts of fastening of a head of cylinders.
Remove the cylinder head and head gasket.
Block the crankshaft pulley with the VW 2084 lock and unscrew the bolt securing the pulley to the crankshaft.
To remove the crankshaft pulley, block it with VW 208
Remove the coolant pump.
Remove the oil pan.
Remove the oil pickup and its attachment pipe to the oil pump.
Remove the front crankshaft oil seal holder together with the oil pump.
Loosen the connecting rod nuts and remove the connecting rod caps.
Remove the pistons with connecting rods through the cylinders, remove the connecting rod bearing shells.
Remove flywheel.
Remove the holder together with the crankshaft rear oil seal.
Turn away bolts of fastening of covers of radical bearings and remove covers together with the lower loose leaves.
Take out from nests of bearings a cranked shaft, and then top loose leaves.
Remove the thermostat housing and thermostat.
Separate the connecting rods from the pistons by removing the retaining pegs and connecting rod pins.
