Removal
Drain the coolant from the system.
Set the engine crankshaft to the position corresponding to the TDC of the piston of the 1st cylinder.
Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.
Loosen the generator mounting bolts and, depending on the configuration, the power steering pump, and remove the drive belts.
Remove the front camshaft drive belt covers.
Loosen the coolant pump mounting bolts and loosen the camshaft drive belt tension.
Remove the camshaft drive belt.
Remove the coolant pump.
Installation
Clean the connector surfaces thoroughly and install new gaskets.
Install the coolant pump and tighten the mounting nuts.
Install the camshaft drive belt. Make sure that the timing marks are aligned and that the belt is tensioned correctly.
Finally tighten the coolant pump mounting nuts.
Install the front camshaft timing belt covers.
Install and adjust the tension of the alternator drive belt and, depending on the equipment, the power steering pump drive belt.
Installing a thermostat
Connect the wire to the negative terminal of the battery.
Fill the system with coolant.
Start the engine and remove air locks from the cooling system. Check the engine adjustment.
