Caution: Gaskets and O-rings must be replaced.
Warning: The lower timing belt cover is not removed. The timing belt remains on the crankshaft pulley. Cover the timing belt to prevent coolant from entering.
1. Cover the timing belt with a rag before removing the coolant pump to prevent coolant from getting on the belt.
2. Drain the coolant, refer to the appropriate Section.
3. Remove the V-belt, refer to Section Removal and installation the accessory drive belt.
4. Unscrew the three screws securing the tension element.
5. Remove the upper and center timing belt cover, refer to Section Removal and installation the timing belt.
6. Remove the toothed belt from the coolant pump wheel, refer to Section Removal and installation the timing belt.
7. Remove the bolts (arrows in the accompanying illustration) and remove the coolant pump from the cylinder block.

Installation
1. Moisten the new sealing ring (3) with coolant and insert it into the cylinder block.

2. Insert the pump into the cylinder block and secure it with the bolts (1) to the torque 15Nm.
3. Install the timing belt and adjust the valve timing, refer to Section Removal and installation the timing belt.
4. Install the V-belt tensioner and tighten it to torque 25Nm.
5. Install the V-belt, refer to Section Removal and installation the accessory drive belt.
6. Fill the system with coolant. Refer to Section Replacing the coolant.
