Withdrawal
Disconnect the wire from the negative battery terminal.
Remove the bottom left instrument panel trim.
Remove the left vent from the floor side.
Remove the steering wheel.
Remove the steering column switch with a facing casing.
Remove a protective lath of a combination of devices.
Remove the instrument cluster.
Disconnect the ignition switch connector.
Loosen the clamping bolt of the pipe flange connection.
Note. On vehicles with mechanical steering, move the bulkhead gasket to gain access to the pipe flange.
Remove the flanged pipe.
Remove the hexagon socket head bolt securing the anti-theft device housing.
Disconnect the system cable «PROCON-TEN» from the steering shaft support.
Turn away and take out bolts of fastening of a support of a shaft to an arm of the panel of devices.
Slide the steering shaft support and the anti-theft device housing down.
Remove the anti-theft device housing from the shaft support.
Remove the steering shaft with support through the hole in the panel for the instrument cluster.
Installation
Insert the steering shaft into the support and carefully slide them through the hole in the instrument cluster panel.
Install the anti-theft housing into the shaft support, insert the shaft support into the instrument panel bracket, and insert the bolts into the bracket and shaft support. Screw new nuts onto bolts.
Position when connecting the lower and upper steering shafts
Tighten the anti-theft device body mounting bolt to a torque of 0.6 kgf·m
Install the ignition key in the ignition switch.
Unlock the anti-theft device so that the steering shaft can rotate.
On vehicles with mechanical steering, install the bulkhead gasket on the flange tube.
Install the flanged pipe with safety clip.
Install and tighten a new terminal connection tie bolt.
Connect the safety bracket, the flange pipe and the steering shaft by tightening the new nuts with a torque of 2.5 kgf·m.
Connect the steering shaft to the drive gear shaft by tightening the new pinch bolt nut with a torque of 2.5 kgf·m.
Install the cable system «PROCON-TEN» in the opera of the steering shaft.
Center the steering shaft support in the instrument panel bracket so that the ignition lock cylinder is positioned against the hole in the instrument panel.
Tighten the nuts of the bolts securing the steering shaft support to the instrument panel bracket to a torque of 3.5 kgf·m
Install the left vent on the floor side.
Connect the ignition switch connector.
Establish a combination of devices together with a protective level.
Install the spring on the steering shaft.
Installing the spring and shims on the steering shaft using tool 3168: 1 - Threaded rod; 6 - locknut
Install the shims using tool 3168, for which:
- screw the fixture together with the threaded rod until it stops on the steering shaft, without tightening the rod nut;
- block the threaded rod and tighten the nut until the spring closes (until the threads touch);
Note. Overtightening the nut can damage the spring.
- unscrew the nut and unscrew the threaded rod from the steering shaft.
Install the steering column switch.
Connect the wire to the negative terminal of the battery.
Establish the lower left facing of the panel of devices.
Install the steering wheel.
Note. The steering wheel spoke must be horizontal with the front wheels in the straight ahead position.
