1. With the engine running, turn the steering to the maximum angle of rotation of the wheels to one side and lock it in this position to create maximum pressure in the system.
2. Check all connections for signs of leaks, tighten if necessary (photo). To check the steering rack seals, remove the inner end of the rack rubber boot from the steering gear, pull it back to expose the seal.
3. Turn the steering wheel to the maximum angle in the other direction, and check for leaks again.
