Attention: When performing any work related to the vehicle's fuel system, be sure to disconnect the battery. Cleanliness is the main requirement when performing work on the fuel system. Clean the areas of dismantling and assembly work from dust, dirt and sand. Remember - in cars equipped with KE-III-JETRONIC and KE-MOTRONIC injection systems, the fuel system remains under pressure for a long time after the engine is turned off.
Fuel tank (Audi 100 C4)
The main element of the fuel system is the fuel tank with a capacity of 80 liters. The upper contours of the tank repeat the shape of the car body at the place of its attachment. The location of the tank is chosen based on the conditions of emergency safety, the tank is protected from side impacts by the wheel arches of the rear suspension, from impacts from behind by the luggage compartment of the body. The fuel tank is made of plastic resistant to chemically aggressive environments.
