Our engines can be called resistant to increased rotation speed. The valve drive is carried out by means of plate tappets directly from the camshaft located at the top. In this case, only small masses are set in motion, which allows high rotation speeds to be developed without risk to the valve drive.
The engine speed can be increased to approximately 6300 rpm only for a short time.
The removed oil pump of a 4-cylinder engine consists of two gears meshing with each other (arrows symbolize the directions of rotation). Engine oil is sucked in through chamber (1), and the oil under pressure enters through the pressure chamber (2) into the lubrication points in the engine.
Oil pump for 5-cylinder engine.
The numbers mean: 1 - internal rotor; 2 - outer rotor; 3 - safety valve.
