Our motors can be called quite resistant to increased speed. The valves are driven by poppets directly from the camshaft located at the top. In this case, only small masses are set in motion, which makes it possible to develop a high speed without endangering the valve drive.
The engine speed can only be raised to about 6300 rpm for a short time.
The removed oil pump of a 4-cylinder engine consists of two gears meshed with each other (the arrows represent the direction of rotation). Engine oil is sucked through the chamber (1), oil under pressure enters through the pressure chamber (2) to the lubrication points in the engine.
Oil pump 5-cylinder engine.
The numbers mean: 1 - inner rotor; 2 - outer rotor; 3 - safety valve.
