4-cylinder engines (Mono-Motronic and Digifant)
Loosen the bandage on the air intake sleeve. Remove the sleeve.
Open the clamps around the filter housing.
Remove the cover and take out the replaceable filter element.
Vacuum hoses may remain connected.
5-cylinder and 4-cylinder engines (KE-Motronic)
Remove the inlet cap above the fuel mixture corrector.
Remove a total of four retaining clips around the air cleaner housing.
Press the fuel mixture corrector together with the upper part of the air filter housing to the engine. Now you can remove the replaceable element.
If necessary, unscrew the fuel lines that interfere with the work and move them aside.
Models with 6-cylinder engine
For a 2.8-liter engine, remove the air flow meter plugs.
Remove the bandage on the air intake sleeve. Remove the sleeve.
Open the clamps around the filter housing.
Remove the cover and take out the replaceable filter element.
Removal the air filter pump
Remove the housing cover (with fuel mixture corrector) and a replaceable air filter element.
Disconnect the heated air hose of the intake air heating system.
Loosen the hex bolt at the base of the container.
Remove the filter housing mounting pin from the rubber bushing on the wheel arch.
Remove the housing.
