There are several unmistakable signs of deterioration in the performance of shock absorbers:
Steering shaking because the wheels no longer have constant contact with the road surface.
When passing through bumps, the body oscillates.
«Prowling» the behavior of the car when cornering, while the inner wheels in the turn are not pressed hard enough to the ground, and the outer wheels are not sufficiently relieved of the load.
bouncing wheels; Naturally, this can only be noticed by an outside observer riding to your side or behind you.
Multiple interrupted braking trail at full braking resulting from bouncing wheels (in vehicles with ABS, this manifestation is suppressed by adjusting the ABS).
Uneven tire wear and increased tire wear.
Significant oil marks on the outside of the shock absorbers and under the strut spring plate. Slight traces of oil, on the other hand, are normal.
