Air Conditioner Drive Belt — Removal, Installation and Adjustment (Audi 100 C3)

1. Remove the power steering pump drive belt and/or alternator, as necessary.

2. Loosen the compressor mounting and adjusting nuts, move the compressor towards the engine and remove the drive belt from the pulleys.

3. Place the new belt on the pulleys and tighten it by moving the compressor away from the engine until the belt deflection under thumb pressure at the center point between the pulleys is 10 mm. Lock the compressor in this position and tighten the mounting nuts.
