Diagonal tie rod — removal, overhaul and installation (Audi 100 C3)

1. Jack up the rear of the car. Block the front wheels.

2. Unscrew and remove the bolts that hold the diagonal tie rod to the bottom and rear axle (photo). Remove the diagonal tie rod.






3. Check the condition of the rod and bushings.

4. Installation is in reverse order, do not tighten the mounting bolts until the weight of the vehicle is on the suspension.
