Note: On models equipped with anti-lock brake system, refer to Chapter 28 before continuing.
1. Before removing the brake line or hose, unscrew the filler cap of the master cylinder reservoir and completely fill the reservoir. Place a piece of polyethylene on the filler neck and secure it with a rubber band. This will limit the loss of brake fluid during the following steps.
2. To remove the brake system rigid pipe, unscrew the union nuts at each end, remove the brackets and take out the pipe. Installation is carried out in the reverse order.
3. To remove the flexible brake hose, unscrew the union nut that secures the rigid tube to the end of the flexible hose. Remove the mounting bracket and pull the hose out of the suspension. Unscrew the remaining end, release the mounting brackets or suspensions, and remove the hose from the vehicle. Installation is performed in the reverse order (photo).

4. After installing a rigid tube or flexible hose, and whenever a tube or hose coupling is disconnected, bleed the hydraulic system as described in Chapter 17.
