Brake lines connect the master cylinder with the four wheel brake calipers.
Attention. Fixed brake lines made of metal must be installed at a service station, as this requires professional skills for qualified installation.
Brake hoses are used to create flexible connections between fixed and moving structural elements, such as in calipers. If there is noticeable damage, the hoses should be replaced.
Caution: Brake hoses must not come into contact with oil or fuel. Also, brake hoses must not be coated with varnish or other protective compounds.
Removal
Caution: Follow the rules for handling brake fluid.
Raise the car.
Unscrew the bolts and remove the brake caliper.
To reduce brake fluid loss, remove the cap from the brake system refill tank, cover the tank neck with polyethylene and screw the cap back on. This is necessary to ensure that the cap seals the refill tank tightly.
Release the brake hose from the guide and bracket.
Clean the area around the brake hose connections and unscrew the brake hose. Close the holes in the caliper and brake line with suitable plugs.
Installation
When installing, use brake hoses recommended by the manufacturer.
Install the new brake hose without twisting it and tighten the brake hose connectors to a torque of 15 Nm.
By turning the steering wheel from lock to lock, check that the brake hose moves freely and does not contact the front suspension or body components.
Install the caliper.
Remove the polyethylene from the filler neck of the replenishment tank and bleed the corresponding brake circuit.
Lower the car to the ground.
Finally, make a few braking attempts on a street with light traffic.
