Order of execution
1. Install tool VW210. By turning the handle, tighten the spring by 12–13 scale units.
2. Loosen the THBD fastening bolts and, moving the pump up or down, as shown in the figure, set the required belt tension. Tighten the injection pump mounting bolts.
3. Rotate the crankshaft one revolution and check the belt tension. If necessary, repeat the tension adjustment.
4. Check that the w.m.t. matched. Otherwise, check the start of fuel supply by the high pressure pump. This can only be done at a service station using special equipment.
5. Install cover 33 (see fig. diesel engine).
6. If there is no tool to control the tension of the belt, it can be temporarily tensioned so that it is twisted by thumb and forefinger by no more than 45°. At the first opportunity, the belt tension should be checked with a tool. Until then, avoid running the engine at high speeds
