Warning: When replacing the shock absorber, the vehicle must be on wheels.
Withdrawal
1. Remove the decorative cap that blocks access to the shock absorber upper mounting nut.
2. Loosen the shock absorber upper mounting nut while holding the shock absorber rod from turning with a hex key.
3. Mark the position of the washers on the top support of the rack, circling their contour, to maintain the angle of the front camber.
4. Unscrew the fastening nuts and remove the upper support of the rack.
5. By turning the steering wheel, center the shock absorber rod relative to the base of the upper support.
6. Remove the washer and compression buffer from the shock absorber rod.
7. Compress the protective cover through the coils of the spring and remove the protective cap.
8. Loosen the shock absorber bottom nut using the special tool (service stations use tool 2069).
9. Pull shock absorber up.
Installation
1. Install shock absorber in reverse order.
2. At the same time, fill the upper edge of the protective cover into the spring gasket, pressing it against the protective ring.
3. Replace the shock absorber upper mounting nut with a new one and tighten it to 60 Nm (6.0 kgf·m), while holding the shock absorber rod from turning with a hexagon.
