Anti-lock braking system indicator (Audi 100 C4)

On models equipped with ABS, when the ignition is turned on, this indicator lights up to check the operation. If this does not happen, the bulb should be replaced (as already described). When the engine is running, the indicator should go out.

The indicator also lights up if the ABS system has been switched off by the main switch (installed on models manufactured before June 92.).

If it flashes while driving, it means there is a fault in the anti-lock braking system. You should have the ABS checked at a workshop (see also chapter "Anti-lock braking system").
