Cylinder Block — Technical Specifications (Audi 100 C3)

The cylinder block is sleeveless and cast iron. In the lower part of the cylinder block there are six main bearing caps, machined together with the block.

Cylinder diameters

Clearance between piston and cylinder for new parts, mm: 0.025.

Maximum allowable gap (when parts wear out), mm: 0.07 (NF model engine: 0.08).

Measure the cylinder diameter with a bore gauge in three zones both in the longitudinal and transverse directions of the engine at a distance of 10 mm from the upper and lower edges and in the middle.
