Anti-lock braking system (Audi 100 C3)

Some models of the car were equipped with an electronic anti-lock system (ABS). If any wheel starts to rotate too slowly compared to the speed of the car and starts to lock, the ABS reduces the braking pressure on that wheel. The adjustment process is felt on the brake pedal, which begins to vibrate and make noise, indicating that one or more wheels are in the locking zone.

To turn on the ABS system, press up on the button labeled "ABS" to the left of the steering column. To turn off, press down on the button. Normally, the ABS should be in working order.
