On some car models, an electronic anti-lock wheel system was installed (ABS). If a wheel starts to spin too slowly relative to the speed of the vehicle and starts to lock up, the ABS reduces the braking pressure on that wheel. The adjustment process is felt on the brake pedal, which begins to vibrate and produce noise, indicating that one or more wheels are in the lock zone.
To turn on the ABS system, press up on the button labeled «ABS» to the left of the steering column. To turn off, press the key down. Normally the ABS should be in working order.
