The scope and frequency of routine maintenance listed in this Manual are intended for the owner of the vehicle. These are the minimum intervals specified by the manufacturer. If you want your vehicle to always be in the best condition, you can perform some tasks more often. Regular maintenance increases the trouble-free mileage, performance and resale value of your vehicle.

If the vehicle is new, it must be serviced by the dealer to maintain the warranty.

Every 400 km or weekly
  • See Weekly Checks.

Every 7500 km - models with AAS engine
  • Change engine oil and filter.

Every 15,000 km
  • Change engine oil and filter.

Note: Frequent oil and filter changes are good for your engine. We recommend changing the oil more often than stated in the Specifications, or at least twice a year.

  • Check the thickness of the front brake pads
  • Clean the water drain valves in the bulkhead.
  • Drain the fluid from the fuel filter.
  • Reset the service interval display.

Every 12 months
  • Check the operation of the windshield/rear window/headlight cleaning system.
  • Check the headlight aiming adjustment.
  • Lubricate all hinges and locks.
  • Check the electrolyte level in the battery.
  • Check all components/hoses for leaks.
  • Check the concentration of antifreeze in the cooling system.
  • Check the condition of the auxiliary drive belt (not ribbed only), and replace if necessary.
  • Check the condition of all brake hoses and hard pipes.
  • Check the thickness of the rear brake pad.
  • Check the condition of the exhaust system and its fasteners.
  • Check the condition and reliability of the fastening of steering and suspension components.
  • Perform a road test.

Every 30,000 km



Note: Perform the following work in addition to that described for the 12 month interval.

  • Check the hatch. Lubricate the guides.
  • Check the condition of the auxiliary drive belt (ribbed type), and replace if necessary.
  • Check the timing belt for damage and check its tension.
  • Check the fuel pump drive belt for damage and check its tension (only on 5-cylinder 2.5L engine).
  • Replace the fuel filter.
  • Check the self-leveling suspension system fluid level.
  • Replace the pollen filter.
  • Check the underbody sealant.
  • Check the transmission fluid level.
  • Check the final drive oil level.
  • Check the manual transmission oil level.

Every 60,000 km

Note: Perform the following work in addition to that described for the 12 month, 30,000 km interval.

  • Replace the air filter element.
  • Change the transmission fluid.

Note: Every 4 years, unless the 30,000 km interval has expired.

  • Replace the timing belt.
  • Replace the fuel pump drive belt.

Every 2 years (regardless of mileage)
  • Replace the brake fluid.
  • Replace the coolant.
