The handbrake control is integrated into the rear wheel brake calipers. Since the rear brakes adjust automatically, the handbrake does not need to be adjusted regularly.
The situation is different with the mechanical control of the handbrake: here the pusher of the handbrake control at a certain point in time may not reach the piston squeezed outward. The adjusting device lengthens the pusher depending on the degree of wear of the brake linings. The core of the adjusting device is a thread along which, depending on the wear of the linings, the second part moves further and further forward. Thus, when changing the pads, the piston of the brake cylinder cannot simply be pressed back. Instead, it moves back along the thread of the adjusting device.
