The handbrake control is integrated into the rear wheel brake calipers. Since the rear brake mechanisms adjust automatically, the handbrake does not require regular adjustment.
The situation is different with the mechanical handbrake control: here, the handbrake control plunger may at a certain point in time no longer reach the piston that has been pressed outwards. The adjusting device extends the plunger depending on the degree of wear of the brake linings. The core of the adjusting device is the thread, along which the second part moves further and further forward depending on the wear of the linings. Thus, when replacing the linings, the brake cylinder piston cannot simply be pressed back. Instead, it is moved back along the thread of the adjusting device.
