2. Remove covers and plugs, and also continuation of the average console. Unhook the rear exhaust system. In a four-wheel drive vehicle, the heat shield behind the fuel tank must be removed, as well as the rear shield that runs above and below the driveshaft.
3. Remove the lock washer and unhook the handbrake cable from the brake caliper (see figure from section «Dismantling and installation of brake pads for rear wheel brakes»). Pay attention to the fact that when unhitching and coupling the cable, the covers are not damaged.
4. In a car with front-wheel drive, unfasten the brake pipe 1 from the holder 2.

5. After that, you can unfasten the handbrake cable 1 from the holder on the fuel tank 2.
6. Detachment of cable 1 in four-wheel drive vehicles takes a little longer. Holders 2 and 4 as well as fastening nuts 3 are shown below.

7. In order to be able to hang new cables, it is necessary to dismantle the hand brake lever and move the mechanism back.

8. To do this, unlock the handbrake handle with a screwdriver. Then unscrew the two hexagon head screws 2 and remove the bracket 1.

9. Insert a screwdriver into the release hole and press it in the direction of the middle adjustment. Slowly actuate the handbrake lever while continuing to apply pressure on the screwdriver. Pay attention to the fact that the eyelets of the cables do not come off the hooks.
10. Remove the screwdriver and remove the cables.
11. When installing in reverse order, first attach the cables to the leveling arm. In vehicles with front-wheel drive, cable 1 must be located under cable 2. In vehicles with all-wheel drive, the handbrake cables run parallel.
