Corrosion on the sliding surfaces of the brake caliper makes it difficult for the caliper parts to move. In the case of a defective or carelessly mounted dust seal, dirt and moisture can penetrate into the piston of the brake cylinder, in addition, the piston may get stuck in the caliper.
1. Remove the brake pads. The caliper body can only be cleaned with alcohol. The adhesive surface for the brake lining must be cleaned of adhesive and grease residues.
2. Check up a free course of slips in guides. If the linings are stuck, clean the guides with a screwdriver, but do not damage the piston collar. Apply a small amount of copper grease before inserting the pads (grease must not get on the working surfaces of the brake discs and linings).
3. The brake caliper must also move freely, otherwise clean the guide pin. To keep the sliding points moving, apply a small amount of heat-resistant grease to them.
