1. To check the ease of movement of the piston of the brake cylinder, use a wooden block as a stop in the brake caliper using a clamp (this pad prevents the piston from jumping out of the cylinder and damaging the piston surface).
2. The second person must carefully press the brake pedal (the second brake caliper must of course be installed). Does the piston move? If not, pump the brake pedal until it starts to move. After that, press the piston with a clamp. Repeat this operation until the piston moves easily.
This method is not applicable to the rear wheel brakes, since in this case the mechanism for automatically adjusting the hand brake is spoiled.
