Removal the electronic parking and handbrake control unit J540 (Audi Q5-8R)

Bend back the side trim in the trunk at the rear right. Depending on the car model, a trailer detection system control unit is installed. Before removing the electric parking brake control unit, remove the trailer detection system control unit together with the bracket. Unscrew the nuts.



Move the locking device of the plug connector "2" forward. Remove the control unit of the electronic parking brake "1" together with the plug.



Disconnect the control unit plug connector. Remove the control unit from the vehicle.

Installation

Connect the plug connector "2" of the control unit. Move the lock on the plug to the lower position and lock it. Insert the control unit. Tighten the nuts (9 Nm). Install (if available) trailer recognition system control unit with bracket. Bracket 3 Nm. If the electronic parking brake control unit is being replaced, select the "Replacement" function for the corresponding control unit in "Guided Fault Finding". Use the "VAS 5051B" or 5052 diagnostic kit.
