This manual is a repair guide for Audi 100/200 cars manufactured since 1990 and is intended for service station and repair shop workers. The manual may also be useful for individual car owners.
The manual helps to identify vehicle faults, for which purpose the tables "Possible faults" are provided for the main units and assemblies.
Depending on the nature of the faults, recommendations are given for their elimination using adjustment or repair operations.
Car repair according to this manual is based on the principle of replacing worn or damaged parts with new ones. Recommendations for restoring parts are given only in exceptional cases.
The need to replace parts is determined by the tables of maximum permissible wear and clearances. It should be borne in mind that the data on maximum wear of parts are approximate values and should not be considered as the only criterion without taking into account the behavior of the part in the unit or assembly.
The manual contains information about stands and devices required for carrying out adjustment and assembly/disassembly work
The use of stands always improves the quality of repairs, and in most cases is a mandatory condition for carrying out certain works.
