Please note: Most vehicles are equipped with radio systems that contain an anti-theft device. If the radio system loses power, you will be asked to enter the anti-theft code.
Location
Several relays are mounted in a fuse box. On most vehicles, the fuse box is mounted on the left side of the dashboard. Some vehicles have only one fuse box, located under the hood, at the rear of the engine compartment.
An additional relay panel is located under the carpet in the passenger footwell. This panel contains plugs for connecting a diagnostic device. The fuse box cover and the vehicle manual indicate which circuit each fuse protects and its amperage rating. The purpose of each relay is also indicated. Each vehicle has burnout inserts to protect certain circuits: fuel pump, battery, air conditioner, and door locks.
Fuse markings
The mark on the front side of the fuse indicates its rating in amperes.
- 1. Brown - 5 amps.
- 2. Red - 10 amps.
- 3. Blue - 15 amps.
- 4. Yellow - 25 amperes.
- 5. Green - 30 amps.
