Withdrawal
Attention. When removing the fan or radiator, the heater/air conditioner assembly must be removed and disassembled.
Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
Drain the liquid from the cooling system.
Attention: If there is an air conditioner, the system must be discharged.
Discharge the air conditioning system.
Disconnect the following parts:
- Temperature sensor plug
- Evaporator/heater connector clamp
- Temperature control wire
- Vacuum hose on outside air damper
Disconnect the plug of the eye wiring harness. Release the housing bracket.
Disconnect the coolant hoses from the heater core pipes.
Mark and remove the yellow, green and red vacuum hoses from the heater housing.
Remove air hoses.
Unscrew the screws securing the heater housing, two of them are in the passenger compartment and one in the engine compartment. In the passenger compartment, unscrew the four screws securing the evaporator housing.
Hold the heater/evaporator assembly and remove it from the engine bulkhead.
Remove the control cable rubber grommet to make it easier to remove the housing.
The halves of the case can be separated by removing the clips at the top and bottom, prying them up with a small lever.
Remove the fan motor and heater core.
Installation
Install the fan motor and heater core into the housing. Make sure the body gasket is in good condition and assemble the body. Install clamps.
Place the housing on the bulkhead of the engine compartment, put the rubber bushing of the cable and fix the housing with screws.
Connect air ducts, wires, vacuum lines and coolant hoses.
Fill the system with coolant and check for leaks. Charge the air conditioning system and check for leaks.
Attention. The refrigerant cools the surface with which it comes into contact. including skin and eyes. On contact with an open fire, it evaporates into a poisonous gas. Protect your eyes and wear protective gloves when working on the air conditioning system.
