The switch is illuminated by a light guide, there is only one incandescent lamp. To replace the lamp, remove the fan switch. Remove the lamp from the socket with pliers. Since mid-1997, the light-emitting diode (LED) has been replaced. The latter is not replaceable.

Removal



1. Remove the radio, refer to subsection Removal, installation and coding of the radio receiver.

2. Remove the switch cover (A).

3. Unscrew the 4 screws (B) securing the control unit. Pay attention to the position of the brackets (C) for subsequent assembly.

4. Remove the front center console (D), refer to subsection Removal and installation the lower center console.

5. Remove the control unit cables, refer to subsection Removal and installation heater control cables.

Installation



6. Secure the cables to the control unit and adjust them, refer to the subsection Removal and installation heater control cables.

7. Install the front center console, refer to subsection Fusible links.

8. Secure the heater drive to the central part of the instrument panel with a torque of 5 Nm.

9. Install the switch cover.



10. Install the radio receiver, refer to the subsection Removal, installation and coding of the radio receiver.
