Operating time = battery capacity multiplied by the on-board network voltage and divided by the consumer power. In practice, however, you should never count on the full capacity of the battery, but only up to ⅔ of the nominal capacity. This results in, for example, the following service life:
If the Audi-100 is equipped with a dust filter (since 8/92) or air conditioning, the battery is located on the right under the rear seat. For all other vehicles, it is located, as shown here, in the so-called waterproof casing under the shell on the right rear in the engine compartment. To remove the battery, first disconnect the negative terminal (1), then the positive terminal (2). Don't forget the vent hose to remove gases from the battery case. Now you can loosen the screw (3) on the bracket at the base of the battery.
The effect of ambient temperature on the battery
Batteries tend to react to cooling more negatively the less they are charged. Completely discharged batteries are so sensitive that in cold weather they can even freeze and burst. If the battery, on the contrary, is fully charged, it tolerates the cold relatively well. Before the onset of the cold season, it is therefore recommended to check the degree of discharge on old batteries.
