In the on-board electrical system, the unloading relay of contact X (by the way, a simple switching relay) plays a significant role. Therefore, the principle of its operation is described here:
Contact X of the ignition switch receives power only when the ignition key is in the "drive" position. Powerful consumers of current, such as the windshield wiper, rear window heating or fan, are connected via this terminal so that when the engine is started, all the "power" of the battery goes to the starter.
Of course, not all of these consumers can receive their power through the contact in the ignition switch; for this it is too weak. Therefore, a relay must be connected between them, and power supply is carried out through it. The ignition switch contact is responsible (along with supplying power to the headlights) only for the switching current to the relay.
