Unloading relay (normal switching relay) plays a significant role in the on-board electrical system. Therefore, its function is described here:
Current only flows to terminal 75 of the ignition switch when the ignition key is in the "On" position. Powerful consumers of current, such as windshield wipers, heated rear window or air blower, are connected to this terminal so that the entire power of the battery goes to the starter when the engine is started. Of course, not all of these consumers can receive power through the contact with the ignition switch; for this it is too weak. Therefore, a relay must be connected between them, through the working contact of which the current is supplied. Ignition switch contact (along with supplying current to the headlights and the horn relay coil) provides only the supply of switching current to the relay.
