The electronics box cover is secured with five Allen-head bolts (arrows). One of the bolts should be able to be removed through a hole in the cover under the windshield.

The electronics box contains the ignition/injection system control unit (2). The relay switch (1) contains the lambda probe heating relay (2.6L engine) or height sensor (1.8L turbo engine).
To protect the sensitive ignition/injection control units from the high temperatures that prevail in the car in summer, they are placed in a closed box between the engine compartment and the windshield. To open the electronics box, you need to unscrew five hexagonal-head bolts. In addition to the engine control unit, the electronics box in a car with a 2.6-liter engine contains a control unit for heating the lambda probe.
Tip: The lid of the electronics box in the waterproof box must be closed, otherwise the driver will be blown onto his feet while driving.
