TO #25
The protective layer on the underbody of the car should be carefully checked and renewed if necessary. You can do this yourself if you have the ability to securely lift and secure the car (overpass or lift).
Wash the underbody thoroughly.
Illuminate the entire bottom with a bright lamp and inspect the damaged areas.
Clean damaged areas of the anti-corrosion protection with a scraper, spatula and wire brush down to bare metal.
Remove any incipient corrosion that may have appeared.
Apply zinc paint from a spray gun to the cleaned surface as an anti-corrosion primer.
Flat or large surfaces are treated with mastic, which can be applied with a brush.
For hard-to-reach seams and corners, it is better to use a can containing anti-corrosion protection.
Important: bitumen anti-corrosion protection on the bottom of the car can only be treated with bitumen material, polymer anti-corrosion protection in the wheel arches can only be treated with PVC protection.
Hint: Only certain materials can be used for anti-corrosion protection of the car's underbody. Incorrectly selected products are aggressive towards the serial anti-corrosion. When applying the anti-corrosion, it is necessary to cover the brakes with paper or polyethylene film to protect them from water droplets.
