Starting a cold engine
The carburetor has a starting device that must be turned on when the engine is cold.
The starting rod (damper) has 4 positions.
It is located to the left of the steering column (see photo).

Starting when outside temperature is below 0°C
Turn on the ignition. Pull the starting rod out completely, the indicator lamp should light.
Turn on the starter without pressing the gas pedal. If the engine does not start within 10 seconds, try starting again after half a minute. After the engine starts, wait a few seconds and move the starting rod to position 3.
As the engine warms up, gradually return the starting rod to its original position.
Starting at outside temperature above 0°C
Start the engine as if the temperature were below 0°C.
As soon as the engine starts, immediately move the starting rod to position 2.
Warning: The engine should be run as little as possible with the starting device on. Long-term operation with the starting device on (the control lamp is on) will lead to increased fuel consumption and is harmful to the engine.
Starting a warm engine
When starting, the starting rod is not pulled out.
If the engine is running unevenly, press the gas pedal several times.
Starting a hot engine
Press the gas pedal fully. Before starting, keep the gas pedal pressed, do not pull out the starting rod. Turn on the starter.
Once the engine starts, release the gas pedal.
