Note: Models with manual transmission are equipped with a dual mass flywheel.
1. Remove the manual transmission (see Chapter 6) or CVT (see Chapter 7). On models with manual transmission, remove the clutch pressure plate (see Chapter 6).
2. On models with CVT, remove the fasteners (see illustration) and remove the vibration damper.
12.2. Fastening of the torsional vibration damper (models with CVT)
3. Mark the sides of the flywheel to avoid confusion during installation.
4. Fix the flywheel from turning using tool #10-201, loosen the fasteners (see illustrations) and remove the flywheel. On models with manual transmission, to access the bolts, first turn the flywheel so that the bolts are in the centers of the holes; do not use pneumatic tools to remove bolts.
12.4a. Flywheel mounting bolts (models with CVT)
12.4b. Dual mass flywheel mounting bolts (models with manual transmission)
5. Installation is performed in the reverse order of component removal. Use new bolts to secure the flywheel. Tighten the 22.5 mm flywheel mounting bolts to 60 Nm, then tighten them through 90°. Tighten the 35.0 mm and 43.0 mm flywheel mounting bolts to 60 Nm, then tighten them through 180°.
