Removal and installation the crankshaft pulley (Audi A4 B7)

1. Set the radiator frame to the service position (see Section 6) and remove the alternator drive belt (see Section 7).

2. Holding the crankshaft from turning by the central bolt, unscrew the bolts (16 in illustration 7.1) fastenings of the crankshaft pulley and remove it.

3. Installation is performed in the reverse order of dismantling the components. The pulley can only be installed in one position, due to the hole between two adjacent mounting holes - it fits onto the protrusion on the crankshaft gear. Use new bolts to secure the pulley.
