Removal and installation the radiator (Audi A4 B7)

1. Drain the coolant from the radiator (see Section 2) and bring the radiator frame to the service position (see Chapter 2).

2. Disconnect the lower (see illustration 5.8 Chapter 2) and the top (see illustration 5.25b in Chapter 2 or accompanying illustrations) hoses.

3. Remove the air cleaner air intake (see Section 16 Chapter 1).

4. On models with AT or CVT, disconnect the upper radiator cap (see illustration) and the lower ATF lines, and tie them up so that fluid does not leak out of them.

5. On the left and right sides, disconnect the connectors (3 in illustration 17.15 Chapter 2) horns (2). Do not give away the nut (1).

6. Remove the front bumper beam (see illustration 17.16 Chapter 2).

7. Remove the screws (see illustration 5.17 Chapter 2) and remove the right and left air ducts from the radiator.

8. Release the outside temperature sensor (2 in illustration 5.18 Chapter 2) from the holder, unscrew the bolts (3 and 4) and remove the power steering fluid radiator without disconnecting the power steering lines from it. Disconnect the connector (1) on the high pressure sensor, unscrew the mounting bolts of the refrigeration unit condenser and lower it down together with the refrigerant lines.



Caution: Do not disconnect refrigerant lines or allow them to be stressed or kinked.


9. Loosen the two radiator holders using a screwdriver (see illustration) and pull the holders up. Tilt the radiator forward and pull it up.

10. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of dismantling the components.
